Yesterday was Mike's Bachelor Party, thankfully he came home in one piece. He said he had a fantastic time and didn't get into too much trouble. Their day started from Mike's parents house and then traveled into the city by train to get to the Yankee game. It was a beautiful day for a Saturday afternoon baseball game. Nothing like baseball and some beers. After the Yankees beat the Seattle Mariners 9-5 they headed downstairs to NYY Steaks and had what I'm told was a delicious steak dinner that all the guys enjoyed.
The guys then took the train and headed into the city which is where the real fun began. They started their evening by walking to my brothers apartment, who apparently was regarded as the rock start for the night with his big city living. He took them up to the roof top deck for some drinks with a beautiful view. Then it was off to a place called "frying pan" which was actually a bar on a boat docked in the Hudson near Chelsea. Sounds like that drink came with a nice view too! Of course at the persuasion of none other than my charming brother, he took the guys to a Bulgarian Vodka Bar which apparently entails an ice cage, Russian army uniforms and all you can drink vodka. Think I'll pass on that one.
After this it was decided that the guys would stop for some pizza which was probably a good idea after all the vodka. While in line for their pizza Carmen (of course) recognized and started up a conversation with a recently retired Pro Football player, Kurt Warner. They even asked Kurt if he would pose for a picture for their buddy's bachelor party and he wished Mike well.
I'm told that the rest of the evening was spent bar hopping around NYC and they ended somewhat early and headed back to NJ. Mike said that he had a fantastic time with his friends and I'm so happy it sounds like they really enjoyed their random night of festivities.
