Fun in the Snow

At least the spring weather finally seems to be arriving. Before we completely forget about the snow I have a couple pictures of the little furball to post from one of the storms we had this winter. At least someone really enjoys the snow. He has such a blast jumping around in the snow, it's so funny to watch him hopping all over the place! It's one of the best parts of when it snows just watching him have fun. Yes we really got all that snow!

Our Irish Tradition

For my second Irish feast we went over to Mom's on St Patricks Day for our annual tradition. It's something we have come to look forward to every year, our own special little tradition. It's nice that it is an "off" Holiday so something and less pressure than the other major Holidays throughout the year. We did our usual ruben sandwiches which were great.

And of course I made my car-bomb cupcakes as well. Those are the most labor intensive cupcakes ever, they take a good 3 hours or so to make, but I think I really got them down this year, after last year's icing adventure with Bridget. They turned out pretty good and I was able to do the icing quasi decently and I used my St. Patty's Day cupcake liners. I also enjoy them once a year.

Finally, here is our little Irish puppy and his leprechaun friend (who seems to lose more stuffing every year). This year they weren't hitting the booze though.....

Rocky One Year Later

Last year at this time our poor Rocky was recovering from his major surgery. I just remember it was so sad when we picked him up and he was definitely in so much pain and not himself at all. It took him at least 2 weeks before he started showing any signs of life again and then we went through months of rehab with him. And then we were told the rehab wasn't helping and to stop.

For a long while we didn't know if he would ever fully recover and be weight bearing on that leg again.  Slowly but surely he did begin to make progress. Everyone noticed a big difference. I'd say he's probably about 90% back to normal now. I wouldn't say that he's 100% as we notice that sometimes he doesn't lean on it. And recently when Mike and I were walking on him, he was definitely hobbling a bit which was not his usual.

But in the end he had to have the surgery and he's a 100x better than if he didn't have the surgery. And he's come a long way! Mike did call the surgeon this week to see about bringing him back in again for a recheck to see what he thinks about his progress a year later, so we'll see what the official diagnosis is. No matter he's worth every single penny and more that we spent on him, for all of the happiness that he brings to us both every single day! We love that little guy to pieces!!!

Finally some Rocky randomness shots from my Phone!

 Rocky got his license!!!

Rocky's Christmas Gifts

I'm just catching up on some Christmas pictures of the little guy. As to be expected he was quite happy with what Christmas brought him. We were crazy enough to buy him another crocodile toy. This is the 3rd time we're purchasing this toy but if Rocky could talk we're pretty confident he would tell us that it's his all time favorite toy. Although it's not indestructible, let's face it no dog toy could be, it does last significantly longer than the other toys we buy him and it keeps squeaking till the last minute when Rocky has finally broken it to pieces. He really does love that thing, it is probably because it makes the worlds most obnoxiously loud annoying sound ever!

But because we love him and he loves it we keep replacing it. He opened his gift (loosely wrapped) all by himself in no time at all and successfully got his crocodile out. Here he is opening his gift and showing off his prized possession after. He wanted nothing to do with the rest of his toys once he had that guy. I'd def say Rocky got everything he could want for Christmas!

And some shots of the cutest little face ever! Love that little guy, he's so handsome!

Merry Christmas from Rocky 2012

Since the Santa picture didn't turn out so great this year, I stuck Rocky in front of the Christmas tree when we got home to try and take his picture. I bribed him with several treats to get him to stay where he was while I tried to take his picture. I'm a little disappointed I couldn't get the settings a little better on my camera exposure but I didn't have all night with my subject and couldn't feed him unlimited treats either. He is the cutest subject though, we love this adorable little guy and his Christmas photo!

Here's the 2012 Christmas card picture from our family to yours!!!!

Rocky Visits Santa

Since Rocky is our only child I totally indulge in spoiling him and doing any activity possible allowed for dogs. One of those activities is taking him to see Santa and get his picture taken. Last year my Mother-in-Law and I took him to see Santa at the mall by her house and we had such a fun time. So of course I wanted to do it again this year! They offer pet pictures with Santa on Monday nights in the mall, since they frown upon bringing your dog to mall any old time and Monday nights aren't too crowded.

This year we decided to go to the mall by our house versus down in Bridgewater like we did last year near where my in-laws live. Since I just started my new job it was too hard to get out of work, get home, pick up Rocky, get down to Bridgewater, and back, we decided to go near us this year. I met Mike and my Mother-in-Law, and Rocky at the mall by out house on the way home from work to get his picture with Santa taken. I heard Mike even cleaned Rocky's face before taking him, what a good Dad!

In comparison to last year there was a pretty long line. We waited about an hour in total to get to the front of the line for pictures. We met Pickles and Waffles in line in front of us and also two golden doodles behind us. The line did seem to move pretty quickly and Rocky surely didn't mind at all.

I was disappointed with the picture itself, as it came out WAY TOO WHITE. The settings on the camera were totally off, but I still wanted his picture anyway for the memories. It was fun to do it again, although next year I plan to take the afternoon off and go down by my Mother-in-Law again since the pictures came out so much better there. Here's the little guy with Santa!!!

Rocky waiting patiently in line & with Mommy!
Hey, why is this guy sleeping? Where you going Mom?

Happy Howl-o-Ween!

For Rocky's second Halloween and also his birthday, my Halloween Baby. I told Mike we had to get him a costume. Mike reluctantly agreed while we were in target one night. I let Mike pick out his costume this year since he was agreeing to let me get one. Mike picked out a hotdog costume for Rocky since it didn't require any additional pieces or him to wear anything on his head. After I returned the costume twice (I got the medium, then the small, and then the medium again) we were good to go.

Rocky was not a fan of his costume. He really didn't wear it for long this year since I couldn't take him trick or treating to his friends houses in the neighborhood because Halloween was all messed up this year with the storm. When I put the costume Rocky immediately froze and would not move. Period. He just stood there looking like what have you done to me. This one picture pretty much sums up Rocky's feelings on the costume. Mike call's this shot, "Rocky's Pissed."

I made him wear his birthday hat too since Halloween is his birthday too. He didn't like that either.
 He looks so sad!
He's saying "what have you done to me?"
Seriously Mom, this isn't cool now!
Thank goodness she finally took that ridiculous thing off of me!

Happy 2nd Birthday Rocky!

Can't believe our little guy is 2 years old already. It seems like just yesterday we brought him home and he was only 3 months old and a mere 6 pounds. Now a year and half later he's 16 pounds of fun. He's always quite spoiled and his birthday is no exception. I attempted to make him pose for some birthday pictures but it's not so easy to get him to wear his birthday hat and smile look at the camera. But I did manage to get a couple photos.

I really wanted to get him a birthday cake that I saw especially since there was a groupon for the place but Hurricane Sandy messed up those plans. Luckily Rocky's Grandma bought him a birthday treat from his favorite store, the Hungry Hound. I attempted to take Rocky's picture with his birthday hat, toy and cookie (note all of the aforementioned are also from his Grandma as well). Here's he is enjoying his birthday treats!

First checking out the toy
But then he realized there was a cookie in the package
Then he decided he needed to get off this chair in order to wonder away and go eat his cookie somewhere
 He enjoyed his birthday treat!
