Since I attended the training session in January I have been working non step on practicing for my step certification. I practice at home, I practice at the gym, I go early to classes to practice more, I feel like I have done nothing but practice this one routine since January but I finally got it down. In step every quarter there is a new release and I knew I wanted to get taping my class for certification out of the way before the new release comes out next week.
I had to schedule my own class and convince 5 people to come take the class. You need to have 5 people in your class to send it in. It came down to the wire but I roped in 5 people and actually had 6 show up for the class. I was a little nervous before hand trying to cram everything in and make sure I knew which way to turn first and which foot to be on. For the taping you also have to introduce every song and give a little statement about it (something we don't usually do in classes regularly). Once I got going I had it down, I remembered to do everything I was supposed to, I was on the right foot, turned the right way and introduced all my songs. The hardest part of it was going straight through with no breaks for water, but the end I was so thirsty I literally drank like a gallon of water afterwards. It couldn't have gone any better, I don't think I really missed anything, both instructors that took my class said I did really well and I absolutely passed. And the group fitness director, Ricky, had seen a couple minutes and he also said I did really well and I'm allowed to start teaching a couple of tracks, even this week in the new release!
