Warrior Strength

Shortly after our North Carolina trip we had another small weekend trip planned. This one was to upstate New York to participate in the Warrior Dash. According to the website Warrior Dash is "a mud-crawling, fire-leaping, extreme run from Hell. This fierce running series is held on the most challenging and rugged terrain across the globe. Warriors conquer extreme obstacles, push their limits and celebrate with kick-ass music, beer and warrior helmets." Along with 12 other friends we rented a house near the mountain and prepared for the big event.  We rented a "rustic" cabin I'll call it, it had it's own mountain charm to it, but was a suitable location for holding all 14 of us before the big race.

Everyone arrived pumped and ready to run the race, I was only it in to see everyone else participate. I wasn't crazy enough to run through mud, I like to stay clean :-) The "team" prepared the morning of by decorating their own t-shirts, while Rocky and I watched the team prepare. Before we knew it the race was upon us and everyone prepared to go over to the mountain for the big event. Here is one last picture of everyone all nice and clean.

Amy pondering what did I get myself into.
The team got in line at the start line, along with hundreds of other people. I stayed at a safe and clean distance and snapped pictures of everyone, while they were still clean, and before we knew it they were off. The first obstacle included climbing half a ski mountain! After that it was things like a mud pit that they had to swim through and go over logs, I believe Michelle went head first into the mud pit. There were other obstacles like climbing cargo nets over cars, and even jumping over fire, and of course another mud pit at the end to crawl through. I watched all of this from a clean distance but did manage to get some good pictures of everyone afterwards. I think I made the right call staying on the sidelines nice and clean.

The after shot, note the previously white t-shirts are now brown but they didn't seem to mind
