My First RU Game

Attending graduate school is much different than undergraduate. It pretty much only involves (or for me anyway) going back and forth to campus for classes and group meetings only. I missed out on any type of campus life as a part-time student and full-time employee. There wasn't much of a social life to be had. I did however make a really good friendship with my friend Melissa who happened to be somewhat of a Rutgers expert, she had been there for her entire undergrad and grad programs. We always try to get together for dinner down in the area near school since that is a convenient in the middle location to meet at. She always takes me to all her favorite New Brunswick places and I get to try all these good food.

This time however she was taking me to my very first Rutgers football game. When we went to school and there was a football or basketball game we hated it since it meant we had to park even further away from campus, but this time it was different since I was going there for the game and not for class, which felt really good.

I never really had much of a college football experience so it was fun to go to a game for "my" school. I was amazed by the sea of red and just how much there was going on at the pre-game. There was everything from carnival games and food to the famous Rutgers grease truck sandwiches there (which were quite tempting). It was so much fun to finally get to go to a game, it also didn't hurt that they killed the other team and won 48-0. I can't wait to go to my next Rutgers football game!
