Rocky's cousin Jack has been a little 'under the weather' lately and as a way to cheer up him, we (yes I'll refer to us as a we, because I'm sure Rocky would've wanted to also) wanted to send Jack a little treat to help make him feel better. It also gave me a great excuse to make a batch of homemade dog treats. When I saw dog shaped cookie cutters on the Crate & Barrel website, I knew I had to have them. Thankfully my Mother-in-Law loves going to that store and ran out and picked up a set for me.
These treats were super easy to make and really only took a few minutes. The most time consuming part was rolling out the dough and cutting out all the fun dog bone and fire hydrant shapes. Rocky loves these cookies, I think they're his favorite, but I'm just saying that, Mike says he'll eat anything, but I think he loves them especially with the peanut butter in them. Any four legged friend is sure to love these!

Ingredients
1/2 cup of peanut butter (I used the creamy kind)
1/4 cup honey
1 tablespoon of virgin coconut oil (or olive oil)
1 cup chicken broth
1 cup rolled oats
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup all-purpose flour
Directions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Whisk together peanut butter, honey, oil and chicken broth. In a separate bowl, combine flours and oatmeal. Mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients. Place dough on flour dusted surface. Roll or press dough out to about 1/4” inch thick. Use a small bone cookie cutter to cut out cookies. Roll out leftover scraps and cut out as many as possible. Put cut out cookies on a parchment lined baking sheet. Bake for 14-16 minutes. Transfer to a cooling rack.
