For our final day in San Francisco we made a list of all the places we wanted to go to or go back to, to get some more pictures and see the sights before we headed out. We decided to head out walking first thing in the morning to get a head start on the day and get everything in.
We walked over to China Town first. This experience was much different than our first time walking through when the streets were so crowded you could barely move, this time it was empty.
We walked up some crazy hills to get to our next destination of Lombard Street, the worlds most crooked street. It was interesting to learn that the residents originally designed the street this way by planting flower beds in order to slow down traffic, little did they know how much traffic it would ultimately end up with.
One of the last essential San Francisco things we had to do on our list was to go on a Cable Car ride, from Lombard Street we headed over to Ghiradelli Square to catch the Hyde and Powell line, the most famous and scenic cable car line. The cable car ride was a lot of fun and probably one of my favorite things about being in San Francisco!
The last thing we had on our agenda was a tour of AT&T Park, where the San Francisco Giants play. Unfortunately at this point the weather really took a turn for the worse and the rain was coming down. It did let up enough that we were able to take some pictures outside at Giants stadium. The boys enjoyed the tour but it was seriously the longest baseball stadium tour I've ever heard of, it was like two hours long and we were all starving by the end.
Before we were ready to head back there was one more thing we had to do for a second time, and that was to go back to Ike's Place. This place was another gem that Joe found, it was featured on the show "Man versus Food" and we can see why. They had some amazing sandwiches there, and even had gluten free bread for Gina which was a bonus. The sandwiches were so delicious, Joe wanted to bring some back on the plane with him! This was a great meal to end our trip before we headed back to the airport to hang out and wait for our flight.
