We got to the stadium nice and early so we could catch Yankee batting practice and Joe wanted to see if maybe we could even get some autographs! We waited outside the stadium for the gates to open up and as soon as they did we ran down to the left field line and got a spot in the first row. We were right near the pitching staff and got a close view of Joba, CC, AJ, and the rest of the pitching staff. When they were down throwing, there was a cute little girl right to the left of us with a sign that said I love Joba (thank you cute little girl) that got Joba's attention and he came right over to where we were standing. Joe being the prepared guy, had two baseballs and an 8x10 picture ready with markers and pens for Joba to sign. Gina was able to get his attention first, then I got his autograph and even Joe got in there and got his autograph. We were able to get Joba's autograph 3x. It was really exciting, I never got that close to a player before or got an autograph it was really cool!!!
After that we enjoyed a beautiful, sunny Memorial Day afternoon at the ballpark as we watched the Yankees beat the A's 5-0. It was a great day for a ballgame!
