Boston....Quack, Quack

One of the best parts about going to my friend Emily's wedding in Cape Cod is that we got to go visit our good friend Anna and hang out with her. Anna and Dennis were awesome enough to let us crash at their place after the wedding. I was so excited to finally go check out their apartment, it's hard to believe that she moved up there over a year ago already and we were finally just getting up there.

Anna and Dennis have a really nice apartment in this great part of Boston, called Davis Square. Right outside their door you could walk to so many places, some great little restaurants, an inexpensive movie theater, Anna's gym was only about 2 blocks away and so much more. It was such a nice little neighborhood by where they live. When we were driving away, Mike and I both agreed this was def our kind of town that we would love to live somewhere like that, being able to walk to so many things. Also within walking distance from their place was Harvard Square which also has a ton going on. Anna said on days when she doesn't go to the gym sometimes she'll just walk down there to get a walk in, now that sounds like my kind of walk!

Also great was the fact that we could take the T right from their house and we were right in the heart of Boston in about 20 minutes and it was so easy to get down there. We hopped on the train and headed downtown so we could catch one of the infamous Boston Duck Tours. It was such a beautiful day to go see the city!

Although the duck tour was a little pricey considering its only a 90 minute driving tour around the city and a third of that time is spent floating down the river not seeing much at all, it is the quintessential Boston tour to do and since we really only had a couple hours to spend in the city with Anna it was a great way to take it all in on such a beautiful day.

By the time the tour ended we were starving, Anna suggested we check out Max Brenner's for lunch. This place was like being in Willy Wonka's chocolate factory, it is a chocolate lovers paradise. I'd never seen chocolate incorporated into so many dishes before like this. Anna and I both had one of their omelets for brunch and they were served with "diamond dusted sugar buttermilk biscuit, spiced home fries & pure melted chocolate lick." And Mike's hamburger was served with "waffle fries dusted with chili and cocoa powder." It was delicious. One of the best parts of the meal was also the hot chocolate we had along with our omelets. It wasn't like any hot chocolate I'd ever had before, so rich and creamy, the perfect blend! We really enjoyed our chocolate feast but mostly the company we had to share it with!

We had such a great day visiting with Anna, I really can't wait to go back again and go exploring around her neighborhood and Boston some more - it's such a great city!!!
