Even the Library....

I could not tell you the last time I went to the library to check out a book, it's been years. The last time I was probably in a library was in college, although I think I went to the Rutgers library a couple of times to meet for a group meeting, but not for research purposes of looking at books. I can remember so many bike rides to the Franklin Square library growing up, and trips with Mom to Barnes and Noble, those were my favorite. I'd love to wonder around in Barnes and Noble for hours. With as many books as I've been reading buying books can be an expensive habit. Although I have been finding a lot of gems on Amazon for my kindle, I always indulge in the books that are only $2.99, I'm a sucker I can't resist them, it's cheaper than renting a movie.

I decided yesterday to save what is left of my quickly dwindling amazon gift cards and that I was going to go to the library and borrow this months book club selection, since honestly I had no desire in owning the book Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter either electronically or on paper. We've lived here for four years and almost every day I drive past the town library but I've never been in, it was time to change that. I went in and got my own library card.

The real reason I'm rambling on about getting a library card, because let's face it, that's not the most exciting thing in the world and probably not really worthy of it's own blog post. Even the library has gone electronic!!! You can now borrow e-books for your kindle from the library but you need a library card to do this. A couple of small things about it though is one, not every ebook is available to borrow, and two, like in a real library there is a wait for a lot of the ebooks, especially the popular ones and you can only "wait in line" for 5 books at a time. But hey they're still free ebooks! I was so excited by this feature, I don't know why I didn't do this sooner. I already found a bunch of books on there that I had in my list to read and now I can save the money and download them to my kindle for free.

I just had to share that about the library and ebooks since it made me really excited and in case anyone out there reading this is like me and has not been to their library either to take advantage of this!
